A panorama shot of the Bonneville Salt Flats in West Wendover, Utah.
The silence out there is amazing. I couldn't get a good shot of it, but the salt creates a mirage effect and there are reflections in the salt that look like water. When the pioneers crossed the salt flats they would see what they thought was water and would speed up, straining their oxen to reach the water, which they, of course, could never reach.
It is a lonely place. At once beautiful and ugly. It was in the 90's when we were out there.
There are so many gorgeous parts of Utah. So diverse. From the salt flats to the redrocks to the Rocky Mountains....You can see a little bit of everything. Well, except ocean.
